Refusing Boss to Come to Office due to COVID

Sample -1

I am writing you this letter in response to your email in which you have ordered all the employees of the office to come back and start working again. I regret to say that I will not be coming back and rejoining the office until the pandemic prevails. I did not want to answer you like this but I cannot expose my life to any danger because COVID-19 is back with its new form and it has also started playing havoc with the lives of people across the world once again.

Clear guidelines have been issued as to how to minimize the risk of the pandemic. I am sorry to say but this thing is beyond the level of understanding that why should we come back to the office when the COVID–19 is surging around us and we are working from home efficiently.

Dear [Name], social distancing is the only cure in this regard to minimizing the chances of exposure to the pandemic. So far, it is the only practice that can save lives. We can work from home without any difficulty and we are also sending you the reports on time.

In the scenario when the corona cases are increasing day by day, coming back to the office for work will not be a responsible act at all. Doing so, I am afraid that we shall not be able to maintain a reasonable social difference with our colleagues, thereby exposing ourselves to danger.

Considering guidelines issued by health officials, I am again sorry to say that I am not joining the office on [date]. At the same time, you should also revert your decision of calling the employees back to work. I am hopeful that this act of mine will not be counted as subordination because I have voiced over the right issue.

Yours sincerely,
[XYZ]

Subject: Absence excuse at work due to [X]

Dear Sir,

I just received your email in which you have ordered all the employees of the company to rejoin office on [date]. I was completely shocked after receiving this mail. You also know that pandemic has started playing havoc with the lives of innocent people across the globe and the number of coronavirus cases is increasing day by day.

Under this alarming situation, calling all the employees back to their work will not be the right decision and I regret to say that I will not be able to rejoin the office until the pandemic prevails.

Ministry of Health has issued very clear guidelines that maintaining the social distance from your fellows is the only way through which you can save yourself and all colleagues from this pandemic.

For instance, if we join the office right now, it will not be possible for us to maintain a reasonable distance from each other owing to our work needs. Also, there is no reason to rejoin the office for work when we are already doing it from home nicely and sending you the relevant reports without any delay.

I regret to say again that you should revert your decision for the sake of the lives of employees. Otherwise, this letter of mine must be thought of as a refusal in response to your rejoining email.

I am sure that this act of mine will not be treated as misconduct because I am doing all this to observe proper social distance which is good for the rest of the society. I hope you will think again about your decision.

Yours sincerely,
[XYZ]
